Service Manual Duramax 6.6 Diesel
Only the late 2004 models produced in California had an EGR system. The horsepower was rated 300 and torque was 520. 2004.5-2005 LLY Duramax - All LLY engines came with an EGR system in place.
These engines also received upgraded injectors, a variable geometry turbo, and a few other upgrades over the previous generation. Horsepower was raised to 205 and torque to 605. 2006-2007 LBZ Duramax - This generation of engine received more fueling system upgrades, a larger egr cooler, and internal engine durability upgrades. The horsepower was increased to 360 and torque to 650. 2007.5-2010 LMM Duramax - This was the first year that the diesel particulate filter appeared on the Duramax engines. The injectors were upgraded from the previous design. The EGR cooler system also was revised.
Horsepower was increased to 365 and torque to 660. 2011-2016 LML Duramax - A new injection system was introduced this year that included the often failing CP4 injection pump. Urea injection came standard on this version as well. Horsepower was increased to 397 and torque to 756 ft/lbs.
