Fall 2018 Testing Dates: August 22, 29 & September 5, 12, 19 Registration Opens: (Link) July 1, 2018 PRCC – Associate Degree Nursing:. Kaplan Entrance Exam must be taken on the PRCC – Poplarville Campus if candidate is applying to the PRCC ADN program.

Candidates applying to the ADN program, may take the exam one time per admission period. Exam scores are valid for three (3) years. Kaplan scores are non-transferrable from PRCC – ADN program. Registration fee is $50.00 per test administration – Fee is non-refundable and test dates are non-transferable. Submit online payment via PayPal using credit or debit card. Exam registration name must match name on PayPal account.

Day of Testing:. Kaplan Entrance Exam is administered at the PRCC – Nursing Building in the Computer Lab. All candidates must take the exam on the day registered.

The Entrance Exam is a 91-question, multiple-choice test that evaluates the basic reading, math, writing, and science skills of students seeking entry into a nursing program leading to RN licensure.

READING SECTION The reading section contains 22 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. The topics will vary and may contain a science, nature, or historical theme. Candidates read four passages and answer questions that measure the essential skills required for reading: Determining the logic of a passage, Comprehending details, Drawing basic inferences, and Identifying the purpose of a passage. MATH SECTION The math section contains 28 questions to be answered in 45 minutes.

The questions contain basic arithmetic to algebra and are in the form of a basic equation or word problem. The test measures the candidate’s ability to apply mathematical principles in the following areas: Conversions, Operations, Ratios, and Word problems. WRITING SECTION The writing section contains 21 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. Candidates read nine passages and answer questions that measure the essential skills required for writing: Assessing passage development, Assessing paragraph logic, and Assessing mechanics of writing.
